Day Fifty-one - Hanging Around

Again, I waited until the last minute to take my daily picture. Surprise, surprise.  So I got caught in my poorly-lit living room with a sleepy child, who didn't want her picture taken.  I'm committed to taking a picture tomorrow with some level of technical execution and thought, but for tonight we have a picture of a kid hanging off of the couch with a cute smile.  Not so bad, I suppose ;)

  

Day Fifty - War Zone in Here

I wish that my fiftieth day was marked by something more pleasing, but tonight my house was under attack!  My poor dogs have been dealing with fleas and tonight was the last straw! Hopefully the war ends tonight, and the house can go back to normal.  Here's to hoping!

Day Forty-nine - Good Mommy!

Today's picture isn't anything technically wonderful, but I had to use it because it was a very sweet moment.  She was in the middle of playing with a bunch of dolls and decided that this little one needed a diaper change :) She's going to be such a good Mommy one day!

Day Forty-eight - Somebody's Watching Me

After looking at this picture, I couldn't help but hear these song lyrics running through my head - "I always feel like, somebody's watching meeeee!" 

I'm sure Justin was thinking the same thing as I was crouched behind him, saying "OK - hold your head still!"  as my camera timer was ticking down.  He's such a good sport.  Love you, Babe!

  

Day Forty-seven - Big Accomplishment

This post is going to be such a letdown for anyone following along, but I am SO excited about what I've been doing tonight! In the last 2 hours I have completely cleaned out my main Gmail account!! I had over 5000 unread messages (99% of which was junk) and it's ALL GONE, finally!!

And just incase anyone was wondering (which I know you weren't) I've read that one remaining email so the count is actually 0 unread emails.  I just had to keep it in bold for dramatic effect.

If you are still reading, I apologize for that last 45 seconds of your life that you will never get back ;) Haha!

Day Forty-six - The Perdue Family

Today I got to go to Maymont Park to shoot a session for a co-worker and her family!  Thankfully the rain held out and we got some great shots!  Although that's not very tough when you have kids as cute as these little ones!

Day Forty-five - Briana, the Builder

I had a flashback to my childhood, today.  I have a very similar picture of myself doing just this - building a tower taller than myself when I was really little :)  Just watching her build this was so amazing.  After each block she'd get this look of excitement on her face a say "Mommy, look I did, look I did!"  So sweet!

                             

Then after it fell, she just started building again! Love her!

Day Forty-four - The Need for Speed

I tried my hand at Panning today.  How much fun is that?!  As soon as I saw Titan running back and forth playing with the neighbor's dog, I knew I had to attempt it!  Next time I'll use a tripod so he's more in focus, but I think I did an OK job without it.

Day Forty-three - Scrub-a-dub-dub

I had to get pictures of Cookie after her bath because she just looked so pitiful and cute, all at the same time.  There really isn't anything else to say about this one, so here you go!

Day Forty-two - Screen Time

I'm in a bit of a creative rut, when it comes to figuring out what to photograph, recently.  When that happens, I tend to stick with my favorite subject, Briana.  Tonight she watched Caillou on the computer, after we just finished talking about how our pediatrician is completely against "Screen Time" before 2.  Oh well. I'm sure there are worse things in life, than an episode of Caillou before bed.

Day Forty-one - Nom Nom Nom

I'm really bummed out! I missed so many great photo opportunities tonight because I left my camera at home, instead of taking it to dinner at Jenna's house with Alicia and her girls.  So instead of cute little ones squished together watching Super Why on the computer, or Adison and Kendall playing with the dogs, I was left with shooting my dogs eating dinner, later in the night. Not very exciting, but I wasn't about to miss a day of shooting!

Lesson: never leave home without my camera. NEVER! :)

Day Forty - My New Toy!

Today I got a major upgrade - a new MacBook Pro!! So exciting! Looks like Briana wasn't the only one getting a huge birthday gift a month early ;)

Day Thirty-nine - A Rookie, no more!

My baby finally gets to lose the bright orange "Hey, I'm a Rookie" helmet, and wear the real deal!  So very proud of him!  All that's missing is the smoke smudges from whenever he gets his first real fire. Soon, I suppose ;)

Day Thirty-eight - Happy Birthday, Easton!

Briana's friend, Easton, celebrated his 2nd birthday at SCOR today!  All the kids had a great time playing in the pool, squirting water guns, and running around the soccer fields!  I'm sharing a few pictures today.  The first is the Birthday Boy, himself. Easton, you are quite the cutie-pie!

Day Thirty-seven - Nighty Night

Grandpa came over tonight for dinner and to watch Briana playing on the playground.  After a fun evening of running around, all she wanted to do was go to sleep. Unfortunately, I forgot to take a picture today so, in her final waking moments, all she saw was the end of my camera lens :) 

I'll be better prepared tomorrow!

Day Thirty-six - Extreme Rock Climbing

I'd call a 23 month old conquering her 4 foot rock wall "Extreme" rock climbing!  She is loving this playground and I'm loving snapping pictures or her.  She's just getting way too big, way too fast!

Day Thirty-five - Unfinished Business

About a year ago, I started making a Quiet Book for Briana.  I completed four pages and the project hadn't been touched since...until tonight! It took a while to get all my stuff together again, but I was able to make two more pages tonight.  I'm determined to finish this project!

Day Thirty-four - Live, Laugh, Love

Today I wanted to do a photo of Justin and I drawing with light.  I had this cute picture in mind where we would both draw a half of a heart and it would be a fun and cute shot.  Well after many inappropriate light drawings from Justin (those of you who know him can probably guess the things he drew) he decided to be goofy and write out his favorite catch phrase, "Live, Laugh, Love" Hahaha!  This isn't exactly photography gold, but we definitely got a few good laughs and had fun. I'd say that makes it a success :)

Day Thirty-three - Swings and Slides!

Briana got her birthday gift from Grandpa! We now have an awesome play set in the backyard and she is loving it!  I don't think she minds that her gift came a month early :)

Day Thirty-two - Model Shoot

Today was crazy fun! I attended Digital Days photography workshop this weekend and today was the model shoot.  I have so many pictures I want to share, but it's taking a while to work through them all so tonight I'll only share one.

Day Thirty-one - Off the Cob

We went to Bass Pro Shop for dinner tonight and Briana decided she wanted to eat Grandma's corn - straight off the cob! I have to say, she did a pretty good job, considering that was her first attempt. 

She makes me smile! :)

Day Thirty - Book Worm

The title here is a little far-fetched since she's only "reading" a crossword puzzle, but she shot me a super cute face, so here is todays picture.

Day Twenty-nine - Ruffles, Ruffles, Ruffles

Pinterest got the best of me again, so I'm picking up on a project I started a while ago.  I'm attempting to recreate this for Briana's bathroom.  If it works, I will have a $118 shower curtain, for less than $30!  Pretty awesome! So here, we have all the ruffles ready to be sewn onto the main shower curtain.  Wish me luck!

Day Twenty-eight - Out With the Old

Todays photo is of the dresser I've used since I was 2 years old. Yep, I've had the same bedroom set for 25 years and today is the last day of using it. Tomorrow my "big person" furniture arrives!  While Justin and I couldn't be more excited to have new stuff, I'm still quite attached to the old set, so I plan to refinish it for Briana's room. But that's for another day.  Tonight we pay tribute to my old stuff.

Day Twenty-seven - Bouncing!

Last night, our neighborhood participated in National Night Out and Briana had a blast jumping in the bounce house!  They had a pretty sweet game of "Ring Around the Rosie" going on in there, for a while.  This is a photo of her crawling over to talk to Daddy, of course :)

Then, it was time to grub!

Gross and sweaty, for sure, but we all had a good time!

Day Twenty-six - Toothbrush Time

Briana absolutely loves brushing her teeth, so tonight I shot a few pictures while she was doing her thing :)

Day Twenty-five - Steak, It's What's for Dinner.

Tonight we ate like Kings and Queens, thanks to my wonderful husband!  This picture doesn't do the meal justice, but trust me, it was great. The steaks were seasoned perfectly. The potatoes...well I'm not quite sure what he did to them, but YUMM-O! And then it was topped off with a nice Diet Pepsi. Goodness gracious! My mouth is watering. Lets do it again :)

Day Twenty-four - The Streak

"Oh yes they call her the streak...Look at that, Look at that!" 

Anyone else know that song? Ray Stevens, anyone? You should look it up if you don't :) Anyway, Briana took off towards her tub for bath time this morning and I couldn't resist.

Day Twenty-three - Ashley's Belly

I'm still one day behind on posting, so day 23 was actually yesterday. Oh well! Yesterday I had the wonderful opportunity to second shoot a maternity session with my cousin, Teresa.  We headed to Belle Isle to take pictures of Ashley and her growing family.  I had a lot of fun meeting them and learned a lot along the way.

Day Twenty-one and Twenty-two - Pure Neglect

Days Twenty-one and Twenty-two were neglected from the blog.  I DID take pictures both of those days, but didn't post them because I was sick and just plain didn't feel like it :)  I'm all better now, though, and ready to share!


Twenty-one: This was the only sight I wanted to see when I came home from work. My bed. and that's where I pretty much stayed until the next morning.

Twenty-two: Still was't feeling that great, so I took an easy route and shot pictures of my other four-legged friend, Cookie. She's a sweetheart, but doesn't care much for my camera :) She's also quite the diva! I think she may be part cat - hmm? Anyway....
