Day Twenty - Love for Daddy

Apparently, today at daycare, Briana really missed her Daddy.  I figured a picture of the two reunited would be appropriate for today.  

Then I had to add one more picture, just because it makes me laugh!

Day Nineteen - Jeep, Anyone?

I didn't get a chance to take any real pictures today, but I did snap a few of our Jeep, which we are trying to sell.  Any takers? Anybody? :)

Day Eighteen - Butterflies

Today was a busy day! We started out at the Botanical Gardens so Briana could see the butterflies and play in the water park.  Then it was off to Jenna's, for her baby shower! Today's photos come from the butterfly exhibit.  

Day Seventeen - Dog Days of Summer

Nana and Papa came to visit Briana this weekend.  I'm not sure who was more excited, Briana or Titan? The hose came out and Titan got some pretty good air, trying to catch all the water!

He loves playing with Papa and has some pretty goofy faces, too!

  

Day Sixteen - Into the Darkness

Tonight we finally sent a bunch of stuff to its final resting place - the attic.  This is probably the last sight these items will ever see. So sad!

Now it's time to watch the Olympic Opening Ceremony :) Happy Friday!

Day Fifteen - One Day

One day I will get a really pretty picture where my subject is beautifully backlit by the setting sun!  

Today is not that day. But that is what this is all about. I'm still learning and there IS a hint of a sun flare in there.  If you squint really hard and tilt your head a little. Right? See it? BLAH! :) 

Day Fourteen - One Monkey Jumping on the Bed

I know jumping on the bed is a bad habit, but...who cares!! It brought out lots of giggles and that's one of my favorite things. 

Day Thirteen - I'm Flying!

As I'm getting ready this morning, I hear a little voice from the hallway yelling "Mommy, I'm flying!"  As I come out of my room I see her hanging onto the baby gate and swaying back and forth. Oh to be that little again, with that much imagination :)

Titan was curious and came up to check it out, too!

Day Twelve - Lazy Night

It's only Day 12 and I'm already getting into a bad habit of waiting until the evening to take pictures.  Must change that!  So tonight is nothing but a couple of people watching American Ninja Warrior.  

Day Eleven - Stubborn Shirt

Tonight Briana decided she was going to put her own shirt on. Good effort, poor execution ;)

Day Ten - Good Night

So I was having another "off" day today.  Just couldn't get any photos I was really thrilled with.  So in a last ditch effort to get something acceptable, I followed Justin upstairs to get pictures of Briana's nighttime routine.  My only thought was that if I took a different perspective, I may come away with something interesting. 

That's all I've got for today.  Better luck tomorrow, I guess.

Day Nine - My Little Beauty

I have no words for this one.  Just lots of love for this little girl :)  

Day Eight - Just Swingin'

After dinner tonight, I decided we should go play on the playground.  I know Briana loves the swings and I wanted to attempt some shots with the sun, right before sunset.  Not quite what I had in mind, but Briana had fun and I learned a few things.  Win-Win!

Day Seven - Let in the Light!

Today's pictures comes from my mom's house.  The house is filled with gorgeous windows so I decided to use them.

And then I had to add a bonus picture, but this one doesn't really count :)

Day Six - Ear Muffs

No big story here today.  Briana and Justin were giving each other "Ear Muffs" before dinner tonight.  Since all smiles fade away as soon as my camera comes out, this was the only time I could get a smile out of her.  The focus isn't as crisp as I would have liked, but it's getting there I suppose.

Off to put the munchkin to bed! 

Day Five - Focus, Jamie!

Since this journey is all about improving my photography skills, I've decided to  take one thing at a time and start with Focus. I struggle with this a lot, so I'm going to make this a priority for the next week or so.  Ironically, I just got back from an Eye Exam so my pupils are dilated and everything is out of focus -ha! With that said, here is my little buddy, Titan. He is 100% Jack Russel and 100% boy, so trying to get a picture of him sitting still is nearly impossible. Doesn't he look like he's getting ready to jump on someone in this photo?

I really wish I would have noticed the toy on the floor and the one behind his ear, but it's going to have to do for now.  I'm working on Focus right now, remember? So please just ignore all that other stuff ;)

Day Four - Blast from the Past

Sundays are pretty low key around here.  After breakfast at Cracker Barrel we took a Sunday stroll though the back roads in Justin's Jeep.  Briana loves "Daddy's Jeek!" and I love it too!  At some point during the morning, we played in the front yard. Briana thought all the rocks looked better in the grass, rather than in the flower bed, so she moved them for us.  Isn't she sweet? So here you have it...

This was me just playing around during post processing.  Riding around in the Jeep reminds me of when I was little and I thought this edit gave the photo a feel of being from the past.  

Day Three - Me

Today, Briana and I spent the day helping my mom and step-dad move into their new house. We were pretty busy all day and I completely forgot to take pictures.  That means I had to squeeze a photo shoot in 9:30 at night.  I decided to attempt a self-portrait.  I'm not happy with the results...at all...but it's late and I'm tired and I couldn't stand the thought of missing a day this early on.  So here's the best I've got...

I will be much better prepared for tomorrow.  Promise!

Day Two ~ Caillou

I promise all of my pictures will not be of Briana - but today's photo will :) And I also couldn't decide on a favorite so there are two for today! Hey, it's my project and I can do what I want!  Today I bring you the trance of that adorable little boy, Caillou!

Day One ~ Grubbin'

Tonight for dinner, Briana dined on what she called "gapes, pEEEEEEas and Uggets".  Silly girl.

Much more appetizing than the Chinese food I ordered, which came cold because they took so long to get it to me. Yuck! If I don't get sick I'll consider it a Win.

A New Chapter

This is completely scary and extremely out of my comfort zone, but I've decided that these are the exact reasons I need to do this. I'm starting today. A New Chapter. No more sitting back, dreaming of doing something I love. I'm a wife and a mother with a passion for photography. If I put it out there for everyone to see, maybe that will hold me accountable, keep me focused, and finally allow me to break free of all the excuses I've come up with for why I can't accomplish this. I can do this. So here it is.

I will be taking one picture...everyday...for a year! Feel free to take this journey with me. 

This one totally doesn't count since I took it a couple days ago, but I feel like I needed to post some sort of picture to get me started.  This is a really pretty plant we have, on the side of our house, to block the ugly HVAC unit.
